Who Picks The Birthday Presents

Should parents pick out the presents that their children bring to their friend’s birthday parties?

The first factor is whose money is actually being used. If the parent’s are paying for the gifts, then they should ultimately decide how the money is spent, perhaps with input from the kids. If the kids are using their own money, then parents should guide them and perhaps even give them parameters or choices, but the final decision should be left up to the kids.

After all, who is more attuned to what another kid would want vas far as the latest toys and fads go, then one of their playmates?
