Total Transformation Course

Welcome to my review of Lesson 1 of the Total Transformation Course. (See the link on the right hand side of the page to view all the previous entries. Even though this post is about the first lesson, there are many other posts with an overview of different aspects of the course.)

Lesson 1 contains an audio CD that is almost an hour long. I immediately liked the professional presentation sound-wise. The lesson is organized as a conversation between creator James Lehman and two other people (a mother and father from different families). The variety in hearing three different voices, as well as appropriately placed background music adds to making it interesting even though there is no visual component.

I also like the interview/discussion format. Sometimes the participants asked James a question for clarification and it was exactly what I was thinking.

The title of the first lesson is: Real Causes of Obnoxious Behavior. I have to admit that when I first heard that and saw it in the book, I thought that it might be a waste of time because I would (and assume parents would too) rather get right to the strategies to solve their problems rather than learn background. It turned out that the chapter was more than just background theory. As you’ll see in subsequent review posts, understanding why some kids exhibit these bad behaviors is actually the beginning of finding out how to stop them. I promise you the reasons (and the resulting tips) will surprise you.
