Summer School

There are many forms of summer school, or more accurately summer schooling that you should consider. Of course, there is the old-fashioned school department mandated type in which the child must attend to make up for failing grades obtained during the regular academic school year. There are also summer enrichment programs which I have mentioned on this blog before.

There is also a less formal method of summer learning which can and should easily be applies by parents. Simply go to your local department store or even teacher supply store and purchase educational activity books. Have your children do two or three pages a day and you will help them avoid that “brain-drain” that occurs over summer vacation in which so many kids forget so many of the skills they acquired during the previous school year.
