Self-Esteem In Children

Following up on my last entry about kid’s self-esteem, I want to return to my review of the Total Transformation Program. The author of the program has a great point about self-esteem. He says that the idea that a kid who feels better about himself will act better does not work. He succinctly states the point in what I gather is a typically quotable fashion with this line (slight paraphrase may be necessary), “You can’t feel your way to better behavior, but you can behave your way to better feelings.”

Reread that quote. That is a powerful message and one that is way too often overlooked in our society these days in reference to both children and adults.

Enough said.
