Review Total Transformation

This next entry in the in-depth Total Transformation Review series is about a point made in the program’s introductory DVD by creator James Lehman. He doesn’t just talk about teaching parents new skills, but also teaching kids new skills.

He said he wants to give kids the skills they need to manage situations without acting out. They need to learn how to solve the problems they face in everyday situations in constructive and socially acceptable ways.

That whole concept is widely used in special education classes. There is a long educational tradition that agrees with that approach.

Taking it a step further, I think it makes sense to help kids figure out why they act or react a certain way to a given situation. Once they become aware of the reasoning behind their own behavior, they will be ready to learn ways to channel their reactions toward a different goal. Work with your kids to create change in your household.
