How Many Megapixels For You?

My last entry about digital photography and photo cards leads to an interesting question facing consumers these days. Are fancy high mega-pixel cameras worth the additional cost?

It’s interesting to me how consumers are moving in opposite directions simultaneously. As high-end cameras become more common place so do low resolution (comparatively speaking) cameras on cell phones. People take millions of pictures with both kinds every day.

I often wonder why the same people are satisfied with the often poor quality from camera phones. Perhaps it depends on what they want to do with the pictures in the end.

The question is would you pay more for a high res camera? Why or why not? (That totally sounds like an essay question in school doesn’t it? Now all I have to do is add, “Back up your opinion with material you learned in this chapter!”)
