Garelick Farms Over The Moon Fat Free Chocolate Milk Review

Garelick Farms Over The Moon Fat Free Chocolate Milk Review

As explained in a previous post, Chocolate Milk Versus Regular Milk, I don’t usually purchase chocolate flavored milk.

When it comes to regular non-flavored milk, I always buy the local store brands. They are less expensive than the national brands. On the few occasions that I did buy a national brand like Garelick, I never had good luck.

Even though the national brand milk was within its expiration period, it usually spoiled before it was finished. I don’t know if the national brands had to travel farther and therefore had more chance at being mishandled along the way (such as being left out of proper refrigeration too long) or I just had bad luck, but it never worked out.

When I was at the store the other day, I noticed, the Garelick chocolate milk container. It caught my attention because it said on the front of the container that it was fat free.

I never noticed that before on a chocolate milk brand so I was intrigued. I checked the nutrition information panel ingredient list expecting to see high fructose corn syrup listed and I was pleasantly surprised to find that there wasn’t any high fructose corn syrup in it!

Of course, it has added sugar so there are more calories than there would be in normal skim milk, but that is to be expected with the extra flavoring.

Chocolate milk that is fat free and has no high fructose corn syrup? I had to try it. I am glad to report that it tasted great. It was very creamy, almost like a chocolate shake. It’s unusual for fat free milk to have that consistency so I was impressed.

Overall, it was totally worth it. I did buy my usual skim milk too but I ended up going though all the Garelick Farms Over The Moon Fat Free Chocolate Milk before even opening up the regular skim milk!

The next time you are at the store, try Garelick Farms Over The Moon Fat Free Chocolate Milk. The company offers a money back guarantee on their products so you can’t go wrong with that.

I wouldn’t replace normal skim milk with it as a regular part of the diet, but consider it a treat for the kids. Alternatively, give the kids the skim milk as usual and buy the chocolate milk for yourself as a treat for you!
