Fun Activity For Kids

A fun and relatively cheap activity you can get your kids involved in is backyard birdwatching.

You can buy an inexpensive bird feeder for about five or six dollars at a department store and set it up in your backyard or garden area. You can buy a bag of birdseed fo a a couple dollars or spend eight or ten dollars for a a much larger bag that will last much longer.

Let the kids help decide were to place the feeder. Then have them watch the feeder over a period of a week or two and record the different types of birds that start to show up. You can turn the whole thing into a real learning experience by having the kids look research the birds they’ve outside on the Internet.
