Family Time

Writing my previous entry of Quality Time And Quantity Time made me think of the term “family time” and a related story.

When I was a kid, one of my friend’s mother’s wouldn’t let people eat dinner at their house because she said dinnertime was family time and she wanted her immediate family gathered around the table interacting for that hour each night.

How appalled would she be today at the dinner habits of most families with people microwaving separate frozen dinners, eating at separate times in various rooms of the house while watching television, using the computer, and playing video games? She would definitely not approve.
