Fall Foliage Trips

Have you taken the family on a fall foliage trip yet this year? Leaf-peaping excursions, as they are often called are a great adjunct to apple-picking, a great autumn activity described in a previous entry.

Many areas are approaching their peak viewing time for leaf color saturation this week so is the perfect opportunity to go on an impromptu trip. Check on your favorite area by looking for “fall foliage reports” combined with the name of the state, city, or region you are thinking of visiting and you will usually find a complete breakdown of the best viewing areas as well as a color coded chart detailing the status of the color saturation by date.

Start a new tradition in your family and call this year’s trip the first annual fall foliage trip.
