Another Idea For Adding Second Car To Household

In a previous entry, I was writing about parents purchasing a used car when a teen in the family becomes a newly licensed driver as well as factors that affected finding cheap auto insurance for the new vehicle.

Here’s an idea – the parents can pass the current vehicle to the teen driver and purchase a new car for themselves! How does that sound, parents? Thought you might like that a bit better!

Of course, in that scenario, finding adequate, but cheap auto insurance will still be a necessity. In fact, all the factors I talked about previously as well as comparison shopping will be just as important, if not more so. When buying a used car, you may actually be able to obtain cheap auto insurance for no other reason than you may not need to purchase comprehensive coverage because the car may be so inexperience in the first place that comprehensive coverage costs more than replacing the car. (Does that bring back memories of your first car, or what?)

If you end up purchasing a brand new car, then you will no doubt be obtaining both comprehensive coverage and liability coverage. In either case, finding cheap auto insurance will still be on your car shopping to-do list to keep overall costs down as much as possible.
