Before I talk about where to download free ringtones no matter which cellular service you use, let’s take a step back for a minute.
Do you remember when all cell phones made the same ringing sound? OK, admit to that and you’ve just dated yourself. Even calling the sound “ring” is really left over from the days of phones having actual mechanical bells in them which truly rang.
In this cellular age, the correct term is ring tone. Even though you can get free at&t ringtones, for example, do you know anyone who still uses the generic choice that comes programmed with the phone? Besides the original choice, there is usually a menu that gives other options. In addition to those maybe ten or twenty loaded into the phone’s memory already, you can also get free t-mobile ringtones online. My experience shows that most people do download additional options for themselves.
One advantage to people finding free Verizon ringtones and those belonging to that each person’s phone has a distinctive sound which you really appreciate when you are with a group of people and a phone rings. Now it is obvious who is receiving the call whereas just a few years ago, prior to people having easy access to free Sprint ringtones, a phone going off in a group of people would initiate a comical scene where everyone scrambled to see if it was his or her phone receiving the call.
