Summer Vacation In New York
You can get entire books and online travel guides written about things to do in New York, but I am going to give you some quick highlights of what I did when I visited there last July.
You should definitely take advantage of the offers to see a Broadway show at a reduced price. How does half off sound? There are tickets available for almost every major Broadway show (yes, including the big Tony Award winners) at half price simply by visiting the half price ticket booth in Times Square. I went to three shows with the half price tickets and had perfect seats. At two of them, I was in the front row! At the other I was in the back row exactly lined up with the center of the stage so the view was perfect!
Another fun activity was a bicycle tour of Central Park. Don’t worry, you don’t actually have to pedal the bike, either. There are plenty of tour operators there that pedal the bikes so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride and their narration. In typical New York fashion, our tour guide was a young man from a former Eastern Block country who had been in New York for about a year. His English was excellent and it was interesting to hear him talk about all different aspects of American culture as they were tied to different areas of the park and surrounding Manhattan architecture.
One thing I didn’t do was visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art so I will have to put that on my list for another trip.
The latest promo for signing up for the Trusted Tours & Attractions newsletter is as good as always. This month, they are offering people who sign up by July 31, 2008 the chance to win $150 iTunes gift card! I think that company is so smart. Wouldn’t you be much more willing to sign up for other company’s newsletters if they offered such great incentives?
P.S. If you decide to extend your vacation on the east cost, you can also check out Trusted Tours & Attractions for things to do in Boston.
Someone Else's Kids also acts as an affiliate marketing partner for The Total Transformation Program supplier Legacy Publishing Company.
