Wimbledon Tennis
My friend has been to England several times and I never thought to ask her if she has been to Wimbledon to see the tennis champions play in person. Wouldn’t that be a great vacation destination?
Of course, the closest many of us will ever get is watching the Wimbledon finals on television every year in late June and early August. Having Wimbledon tournament tickets and actually getting to sit by the court and watch the action in person would be a hundred times better. I would definitely want seats that lined up with the net so I could get a perfect view of the action. I would love to be able to someone actually win that prize money in person.
Of course, the athletes will probably earn even more over the long run from product endorsement deals, but wouldn’t it be amazing to actually be right there and watch someone right in front of your eyes win a large sum of money after all the hard work and dedication to reach that goal. I checked the website and learned that last year’s Men’s Single’s Winner and Ladies’ Winner each earned 700,000 pound which is equivalent at today’s’ exchange rate to 1,380,000 dollars!
They also have a state of the art museum called the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. The tennis museum is open all year around so you can visit it even if you are not able to attend the actual tournament. (For tennis enthusiasts on the other side of the Atlantic, there is also the International Tennis Hall Of Fame located in Newport, Rhode Island. That might be worth a trip as well.)
Someone Else's Kids also acts as an affiliate marketing partner for The Total Transformation Program supplier Legacy Publishing Company.
