Next Big Thing Online Advertising – Net Audio Ads?
Every time I hear something about Net Audio Ads, and online audio advertising I wonder if this is going to be the next big thing in online advertising and how people will react to audio ads being played on their favorite websites.
If you have not heard about audio ads for websites yet, let me give you a crash course. These website ads will be triggered by a code that you put into the background HTML of your site. When your visitor arrives at your site, the system will serve an ad which the visitor will hear through the computer speakers.
There are similarities in function and ad selection to AdSense and AdWords. Net Audio Ads are like AdSense in that the advertising is contextually based which means that the system checks our page or “reads” it to determine what the content is about and then provides an ad that matches that content.
The similarity between Net Audio Ads and AdWords is the way in which advertisers bid for ad placement. Of course in AdWords, they are bidding for placement on a site or in a search engine result page, but with Audio Ads they are actually bidding whether their ad will be played at all in a sense, because the system is designed to only play one ad per page.
I forgot to mention that the ads are only 5 seconds long in many cases. There will be an option in the website publisher’s control panel to determine if they want to have an option of also throwing 30 second ads into the mix. To determine the right length for any site, the website owner will probably have to test and see how his or her visitors react.
Another interesting thing about these audio website ads is that the program is accepting affiliates. (In fact, that’s another similarity to AdSense in that the AdSense prorgram had a referral portion for years too, though I think there have been some recent changes in their policies in that regard.)
If you are interested in online audio advertising for your site, check out the appropriate link in the first paragraph soon. The company has put a deadline of February 1, 2008 for signing up as an affiliate which would give you the opportunity to make money from signing up other webmasters who want to use audio ads on their sites too.
Someone Else's Kids also acts as an affiliate marketing partner for The Total Transformation Program supplier Legacy Publishing Company.
