Watching Jericho on DVD

About a month ago, I wrote about getting Jericho on DVD.

I have now watched most of the episodes and they are just as good on DVD as they were when the show first aired even though I already know how the storylines for the season will play out.

In fact, I can now pay even more attention to the little things that contribute to overall brilliance of the show. Now I’ve noticed more about how the musical cues interact with the content of a particular scene. I’ve also noticed how the writers and directors often choose silence in a scene in which a less skilled moviemaker would have added unnecessary dialogue. Watching several Jericho episodes over a short period of time of a couple days also makes it easier to pick up on small touches that are carried throughout the series. Sometimes something that seems insignificant in one episode is actually a bit of foreshadowing to something very important that comes up in the future.

I think seeing the DVD’s made me appreciate the brilliant acting all the more as well. The lack of interruptions that would accompany watching it on commercial television allow you to “stay in the moment” with the actors as they episode unfolds.

Have you bought your Jericho DVD yet? If not, fix that problem right now:
