Saving Your Kids From Themselves

The phrase “saving your kids from themselves” can either mean something positive a parent is doing or something negative, depending on the circumstance.

For example, if it means that a parent is stopping a child from doing something physically harmful such as driving recklessly, then this would be a good thing. Taking away a teenager’s driving privileges when he has proven to be irresponsible behind the wheel of a vehicle is good parenting and a proper use of the “saving a kid from himself” principle.

However, there is a negative side to this concept as well.
