On Sunday, Courtney woke up early. Her mother was still asleep. Courtney sat down all alone in the middle of the kitchen floor. She wanted to cry. She had a terrible time all week trying to learn to cook. It had been one great big kitchen disaster after another.

Courtney was afraid that she would never learn to cook as well as her mother. A tear fell from her cheek and splashed on her truck. What if her mother never tried to teach her anything again? That would be the greatest kitchen disaster of them all!

Courtney suddenly wished her mother would try to teach her how to cook something else. Courtney thought about how she liked to spend time with her mother in the kitchen. That was it! It was the time with her mother that she would miss, not the cooking. Courtney knew she had to do something.
