Homework Tips

Yesterday, I wrote some tips in an entry titled homework help to assist parents in getting kids to be successful with homework.

I was thinking it about further today and wanted to offer some additional homework tips to help keep peace in the household.

– Parents should never complain about the fact that children have homework because it is interferes with their own plans for shopping or entertainment. The kids will instantly pick up and copy the negative attitude. They will also relay it to the teacher as well.

– When they claim to be finished with their homework, have the kids consult their homework notebook as a checklist and make sure they have finished each part of the various assignments. Check over the homework yourself for completeness.

– Establish a homework hotline with other parents of kids in your child’s class. Compare notes with the other parents to make sure you are getting the full story on the amount and type of assigned homework.
