Public Transportation Directions
I just heard about a new website called PublicRoutes.com that helps people find their way around cities utilizing avaialbel forms of public transportation. They cover many cities around the country, but I looked at Boston as an example so I was able to see a detailed Boston neighborhood map.
One thing that is interesting and different about this site is that you can choose your mode of transportation. Choices include walking, driving, busses, subways, and more. There is also a “best route” option. I think that is really good feature and would help visitors feel more comfortable in a new city.
With today’s crazy gas prices, more and more people will be (or should be) looking for ways to utilize public transportation so I think now is the tiem to get the word out about this website.
The site also gives you updated weather and traffic information so it is useful for residents and visitors alike.
