Rainy Day Activity

We had a terrible rainstorm the other day at my house. It was the kind that turns the entire sky black and makes it look like night outside even though it is daytime. In fact, it was so dark that lights with automatic sensors actually came on.

It got me thinking that if the kids were cooped up in the house, you could get them to plan for the next sunny day by coming up with a list of activities and a schedule. This will keep them busy during the rainy day and give you a ready made plan for the next sunny day when they start saying, “I’m bored!”

Extend the idea by having them draw pictures of the activities they will do outside as well as finding the stuff they will need, such as digging the old baseballs out of the back of the storage room., , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
