Attention General Hospital Fans
Fans of this blog know that I have a special interest in soap operas and may have read my research study on them. I am glad to get the chance to tell you about a new soap site today, specifically the section of it devoted to General Hospital.
I previously reviewed Soaps.com in general, and today I’m taking a look at Soaps.Com’s General Hospital page. Fans of General Hospital will find a treasure trove of information! First, I’m extremely impressed with the lengthy daily recaps (also available via RSS). You may be used to reading those three or four sentence summaries which any daytime drama fan knows can’t possibly convey all that happens in an episode. Soaps.com’s GH page goes well above and beyond duty delivering episode summaries so long that you have to scroll down the page. They even include snippets of dialogue and screen captures. These are the best daily recaps I have ever seen! In fact, they remind me of official soap opera industry script breakdowns that would be produced by an episode’s breakdown writer.
The General Hospital page has more than just those detailed recaps. The page also includes reader commentaries on the episode summaries, upcoming birthdays for stars, show news pertaining to onscreen and offscreen happenings, a weekly poll, and a featured star of the week.
It is obvious that Soaps.com and the General Hospital page are written and edited by people who truly know and care about soap operas and also know how to provide the fans with what they want.
