Driven To Distraction

I just read about a new study that shows teens are distracted while driving. There is no surprise there as far as I am concerned.

What is surprising though is that the information for the study was gathered by asking teenagers what their friends did while they were driving with them that made them feel unsafe. That is an interesting way to ask the question and much smarter than simply asking teenagers what they themselves might do that causes them to be distracted while driving. Of course most people and teenagers think they can drive and perform the other tasks just fine (such as talking on cell phones or sending text messages), but think other people doing so poses a safety risk.
