Internet Marketing Monitor asked reviewers to provide reviews of the site that are “unbiased, honest opinions.” Someone Else’s Kids Readers know that I love to give my opinion so there will be no problem complying with those terms. My first impression of the site was that it was rather plain, especially for a marketing site. There are no graphics except for the corporate logos that accompany the stories. This is not necessarily a bad thing since I can now spot the typical marketing site a mile away because of the almost uniform look among them. Despite its plain-Jane look, at least the impression it gives off is that there might be some substantial (if not exciting) material to be found there.
I really like how there are four ways to access information.
First, there is a search box. That is essential because some visitors may have arrived there from a search engine because of something formerly indexed on the front page which is now gone. The search box allows those users to get what they want quickly.
The middle of the page contains the latest articles (and by the looks of it, several a day) which is good for repeat visitors looking for the latest industry information.
The top of the page has some real high-level general choices such as an Internet marketing glossary, which is a great tool for beginners.
Finally, the left hand side contains about 25 categories such as the usual suspects ) Google, Yahoo, etc.) as well as more non-company specific categories such as traffic and emerging media.
I only read a few articles as samples. Those I read were well-written, error free, and grammatically correct – three aspects most websites these days do not have.
Overall, I am glad that I found the site as I think it will help me with my online marketing research. I won’t mind if they make it just a tad more spiffy looking to enhance my usage of it!internet marketing, internet marketing monitor, internetmarketingmonitor.com
