Saving For College
Do you think parents should pay for their children’s college educations or do you think children will only value those educations if they pay for them themselves?
I know very few people whose parents paid their tuition bills. Most of us either worked and or/received scholarships. That is probably more of a function of socio-economic class than philosophy. I’m sure there are many social circles in which the thought of a parent not paying for college, and an expensive one at that, would just be completely unheard of.
I see and hear so much advertising geared to parents about saving for college that the media message is clear: Parents pay.
